Why it is needful to be an honest in thought and action?

‘Not as soft as a clear conscience.’

On the right side of the pyramid of success, below the patience, there are four additional mortar pieces: Honesty, Integrity, Reliability and Integrity These qualities include the reality, power and influence of the human character..

In his book Coach Wood’s Pyramid of Success, with J. Kartie, Coach Woodson defines honesty and its importance in the following ways:

“Honesty is doing things that we know are right and we are not giving in to temptation to do whatever we know.” Honesty should be thought both in thought and action at all times. Regardless of the result, if we are honest, our integrity will not allow us to compromise.

“An unscrupulous act is an attempt to deceive someone. It is possible to be so misleading that we deceive ourselves too. We do this when we want to justify the lie due to circumstances or return to a person if he is unfaithful. Fraud – does not matter – destroys our credibility, breaks our prestige and we get self-respect. “

Under the parentheses on each pile of pyramids, there is some brief application advice for that mortar. Under the integrity of the original pyramid, application advice is “in all ways.” Later, the coach changed the application advice for honesty “in thought and action”. It was an important inspiration for the change of coach, he wanted to make sure that we understand that sincerity is not in the temptation of dishonest ideas, which can ultimately lead to dishonest action.

The coach’s father, Joshua, taught them, “Never lie, never cheat, never steal.” He also taught him, “Be truthful to yourself.” The coach believed that not only was he telling the truth Rather always acted according to its original values.

The coach described one of his core values in this way: “Revenge is a little bit of a blandness in the narrow mind” or “The time to move forward will be better in trying to move forward.”

In his book Coach Woodson’s Pyramid of Success, Coach gave an example when he thought that he was dishonest: “When I was a high school coach, then out of five of my five initiatives came with the measles and had to remember a game. The anti-coach went to the score that night, I was not happy and had to take revenge. In the strike back, I was not true for my values and later apologized for my actions. ”

The coach realized that he was not honest with “not being himself true”.

The coach expressed the character of the challenge of being honest at all times: “Man’s greatest victory is victory for himself.”

He also reminded us that there is a great reward for honesty: “It is not as soft as a clear conscience.”
